Flowers On The Water

We cast flowers on the water

and we watched them drift away

then the moment overtook us

as we joined our hands to pray

now the seagulls flying overhead

keep watch where brave men lie

we cast flowers on the water

when we said our last goodbye

Patrick Kavanagh

On a busy street where poets meet

I still can hear him call

By the Grand Canal of an autumn day

As leaves begin to fall…..

All gone before us now

The words that dripped from the poets brow

Turned down by life’s own plough

All gone before us now

FOLK CLUB IN RECESS

The Fingal Folk Club has taken a short break for the summer months–a bit like the Dail going into recess. We have had many memorable  nights since it started back in March, and once again i would like to thank my great friends Ronnie and Teddy, not forgetting the wonderfull back-up and support from their families as well. C’ant wait for the winter to come—well–provided we have a bit of good weather in between…..Martin

Tell A Friend Friday

This is a message to all the people who have been logging on to my site and cheering me up , to no end. What a pleasure it is to have  you all on board. Could i be so bold as to ask you all a favour, and launch my new master plan  to reach out to the whole world, with–TELL A FRIEND FRIDAY. The idea is that each one of you who have visited my site and liked what you saw and heard, would each tell a friend about me and my music. If you have two friends, that would be even better. I will post some news about how we get on and maybe we can have a little fun along the way.

Regards
