Recorded as part of the live music sessions – this is my take on Whiskey in the Jar. That aside, there are now 10 tracks from the live music sessions up on my YouTube Channel. Go on over and take a listen and let me know what you think.
From the Martin Byrne, Live Music Sessions, recorded at The Black Bull Inn Drogheda. The Auld Triangle is an old favourite of mine. I like to think I gave it my own little twist, I hope you like it.
A great night was had by all at The fingal folk club on friday past. Whilst I dont have any footage of the night – I did play this song for the first time in a long time and found by accident that it existed from the last time I played it.
The Fingal Folk Clubis a great asset to surrounds of North County Dublin and I would urge anyone with a song, those thinking of playing some folk/ trad music or just you who like it a little Irish and traditional to come along and enjoy what is a wonderful night of entertainment.
Every Friday @ 8pm
Ballyboughal Old School – directly opposite the O’Connors Pub
My good friend the gardener Peter Donegan is trying to raise a few bob for Temple Street Childrens Hospital. I’m not really one for Marathons or half ones – but – this might go some way to helping Pete raise a few bob. Nice story. Nice lad. Here’s what he has to say on his garden blog:
Can’t donate but think you might be able to help ? Give Peter a call. I’ve his details in there at the end.
best wishes, Martin

There’s a recent enough and great reason why Temple Street Childrens Hospital is so close to my heart, but in short and for the moment this is a gig I am now doing, again.
NB: we all got a medal. everyone. I did not come second
More than that I am asking for your help and in short I need €650.
I’ve set up a My Charity Page were you can donate securly online and any amount is appreciated however if you are feeling a bit groovy you might also consider a slightly larger wad of cash. If you do and [understandably so] wanna little more bang for your buck ? No problemo.
Pictured above: Martin Byrne giving Eddie Caffrey of 95.5 – 96.5 LMFM’s The Greenscene a copy of Martin’s debut CD, My Ireland.
I dropped by LMFM’s studios last Saturday to meet with the great Irish music lover, Presenter of The Greenscene and gentleman that is Eddie Caffrey.
I wanted to thank Eddie for not only playing my songs, but also the music that I and you love so much. It’s comes as no surprise that he is still so highly regarded on our airwaves – and has been since 1978. A tune in on a Saturday morning would leave one in doubt as to just why The Greenscene is still ‘The North Easts Favourite Radio Show’.
Taken from my debut album My Ireland [track no. 2] this live version of the song Home Sweet Home was recorded at The Black Bull Inn, Drogheda in December 2011.
The album is of course available to buy in iTunes, at all good record stores and of course at any live gig.
